What a brand page can and cannot tell you

Brand reputation in this category is mostly anecdote. What we can do instead is look at every model from a manufacturer that has independently measured figures, and see what pattern emerges — because the pattern usually is real.

Some of those patterns are striking. NIU builds the most efficient scooters in our registry and the least powerful motors. VMAX clears the 265 lb payload ceiling on every single model. EMOVE publishes its braking hardware four times out of four, in a category where a third of models publish none at all. Segway publishes the most complete spec sheets and the least efficient range figures.

What these pages will not tell you is anything about reliability, warranty performance, repair turnaround or parts availability. We have no data on any of those, and a brand page that characterized them without data would be exactly the kind of confident-sounding guesswork this site exists to avoid. See how we research this.
