Editorial policy

What we will and will not publish, who pays for it, and what happens when we get something wrong.

Independence

Rankings are never sold. No manufacturer, retailer or network can pay for a placement, a score or a mention on this site, and none has been offered the opportunity.
Commission does not affect ordering. Every list here is ordered by the published rubric on our methodology page, applied to measured specifications. On several pages the product ranked first is the cheapest on the page.
No sponsored posts. There is no sponsored or paid content anywhere on this site, and if that ever changes it will be labeled unmistakably on the page it appears on.
No free-product arrangements exist. We do not receive review units, because we do not review units — we read other people’s measurements.

What we will not publish

Any suggestion that we have ridden a scooter. We have no test program, so first-person riding language and mileage claims are banned site-wide.
Fabricated reviews, ratings or testimonials. There is no testimonials section on this site and there will not be one unless we have real, attributed, verifiable reviews to put in it.
An estimated figure presented as a measurement. Where we apply the category’s measured average to a claimed range, the same sentence says it is an estimate derived from other scooters’ data.
Invented credentials. No qualifications, tenure, awards or industry history that the author does not have.
A price we have not sourced. We publish no live prices, and any price in prose carries the source and date we read it.
Self-authored review or rating structured data. Our on-page scores are editorial and computed from specifications; marking them up as product ratings in JSON-LD would misrepresent them to search engines.

How often we re-check a page

Trigger	What happens
Quarterly	Every top pick is re-checked as currently sold; every price-bracket page is revisited.
Twice yearly	Every sourced figure is re-checked against its original source and retrieval dates refreshed.
A product is discontinued	The pick is replaced immediately and the change noted on the page.
A new independent test appears	The figure and its citation are added, and the affected pages updated.
A reader reports an error	Corrected within days, with what changed logged.
Nothing has changed	The modified date stays where it is. We do not bump dates for freshness.

That last row matters more than it looks. A site that re-dates its pages every week is training you to ignore the date. Ours changes when the words change.

Corrections

If something on this site is wrong, we want to fix it and we want to say that we fixed it. The things most worth reporting:

A figure that does not match the source we cited for it.
A product on a list that is no longer sold.
A score that does not follow the published rubric.
A broken link, or a source that has moved.
An independent test we have missed — genuinely useful, and always welcome.

Sourcing standards

Every real-world figure is attributed inline, in the body text, with the tester named and linked — not in a bibliography at the bottom.
Manufacturer figures carry a visible label every time they appear, including in table cells.
“Not published” is a valid answer and appears throughout.
Editorial citations are followed links. Only affiliate and commercial links carry rel="sponsored nofollow".
Every figure’s retrieval date is recorded and shown.
Never write a sentence implying a figure is our own measurement.

Authorship and accountability

Every page on this site is written by Ryder M. and published by Magoo Media Group. There is a byline and a truthful last-updated date on every article. If something here is wrong, there is a specific person it is wrong from, and a real address to reach them at.
