GoTrax is the brand most likely to be on a shelf in a physical shop, and its line runs wider than most budget names: the G4 commuter, the A5 seated model, and the GX3 off-roader at a considerably higher price.

The G4 is a genuinely good budget scooter
20 mph and 14.6 independently measured miles at 37.4 lb, listed at $439 (Rider Guide, Sep 2026). It is light for the price, and the measured figure means you are planning from a real number rather than a claim.
The GX3 is the surprise
37.9 mph, 28.8 measured miles and a 300 lb payload at a listed $1,649 (Rider Guide, Sep 2026) is genuine off-road capability at a price that usually buys a single-motor commuter. It is the cheapest properly off-road machine in our registry and features in the off-road round-up on that basis.
The honest problem: the G3 Plus range result
In a twelve-model claimed-versus-tested study, the GOTRAX G3 Plus claimed 18 miles and delivered 9.8 — 54%, the second-worst result of the twelve (Rider Guide, Sep 2026). That is not a current model and does not describe the G4, which is on this site precisely because somebody measured it. But it is a reason to insist on a tested figure rather than a GoTrax spec sheet where both are available. The full study is on the range page.
The A5's payload is the thing to check
A claimed 220 lb on the seated A5 (Rider Guide, Sep 2026) is the lowest rating in our entire registry and excludes a large share of adult riders. At a listed $300 it is an appealing entry into the seated category — provided that number covers you. See what a payload rating actually means.
