Where VMAX sits
VMAX is a smaller name than Segway or NIU and, on the measured evidence, a better engineer of batteries. Four of the five models we have data for are in our long-range or heavy-rider round-ups, and the fifth holds a distinction no other scooter has.
The VX numbering runs roughly by size, with Pro and GT suffixes marking higher-capacity variants.

39.6 measured miles at 45.6 lb — the best range-per-pound figure in our entire dataset, and it takes 287 lb.
VMAX VX2 Hub (18.2 Ah)
35.6 measured miles with an IPX6 rating and 287 lb of payload — the range champion that is still a foldable commuter.

Best-under-$1,000 per Rider Guide: 25 mph, 19.3 miles, and a front drum plus rear regen brake pairing.
VMAX VX5 Pro GT
The most honest range claim we found anywhere: 22 miles advertised, 19.7 miles measured — 90% delivered.
What the numbers show
The best range-per-pound figures we have
The VX2 Pro GT manages 39.6 measured miles at 45.6 lb — 0.87 miles per pound (eRideHero, Sep 2026). The VX4 GT manages 0.67 and the VX2 Hub 0.62. Only the NIU KQi Air (0.92) does better, and it goes 15 fewer miles. For a brand nobody would call premium, that is a striking pattern.
Payload headroom as standard
287 lb on both the VX2 Hub and VX2 Pro GT, and 330 lb on the VX4 GT (eRideHero, Sep 2026) (eRideHero, Sep 2026). Every VMAX model in our data clears the 265 lb category wall, which very few manufacturers manage across a whole range. It is the main reason VMAX appears three times in our heavy-rider round-up.
The most honest range claim in the study
The VX5 Pro GT claimed 22 miles and delivered 19.7 — 90%, the best ratio among twelve scooters tested, against a category average of 71% and a worst case of 53% (Rider Guide, Sep 2026). That is not a better battery; it is a more conservative rating, and it says something about how the rest of the spec sheet should be read. The full study is on the range page.
Modest motors and sparse braking specs
500 W is the highest continuous figure in our VMAX data, which produces the odd combination on the VX2 Hub of 33.5 mph from a modest motor — the top speed arrives slowly. Brake types are also unpublished for three of the five models, which is the brand’s weakest point in our tables.
Who should shop VMAX
Buy VMAX if you want long measured range without a 70 lb scooter, or if you are a heavier rider who wants range as well as payload. The VX2 Pro GT and VX4 GT are the two models we return to most often across this site.
Look elsewhere if you need published braking hardware — which, on a long-range scooter that is also heavy, is a genuine gap. EMOVE publishes theirs.
